To mark the Cleantech Forum in San Francisco, visit grand venture capitalists and entrepreneurs of green technologies, Veolia Environment announced the signing of several partnerships with start-ups. All were selected as part of Veolia Innovation Accelerator (VIA), a device designed to attract young, innovative companies in the group's businesses. "We need the capacity of young shoots to think outside the box to find creative solutions," said Philip Martin, Director of Research and Innovation Group.
In total, 200 cases were filed last year, mainly from Europe and the United States, but also from Asia, which led to the signing of five partnerships with start-up: Ostara (read below above), Envolure (test kit to predict the recovery potential of organic waste), ACS (cost optimization of gas treatment), GreenRoad (software driver support) and Cosmo (modeling the interactions between various urban networks: transport, water, waste, energy).
These collaborations can take many forms: research agreements, technology validation, deployment sites ... But the group did not intend to invest. "We will not prevent those companies from working with others, quite the contrary. Our interest that they develop their expertise in other areas, "said Michel Morvan, scientific director of Veolia Environment.
